ABOUT
Curtain Blue is the solo moniker of singer and producer Abhishek Bhatia, known for blending haunting vocal melodies with electronica and brass-driven compositions, fusing it with Indian elements. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Radiohead, Charles Mingus, Apparat, and Flume, Curtain Blue has carved out a unique niche within the music landscape, combining intricate textures that distinctly define his sound.
Over the years, Curtain Blue has graced stages at prominent venues and festivals both in India and internationally, including The Great Escape Festival and Southbank Centre in the UK, Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Magnetic Fields Festival in India, as well as shows across Bristol, Glasgow, Southeast Asia, and various parts of India.
In November 2022, he released his critically acclaimed project S.T.R.I.P.E.S via Export Quality Records, a project that exemplifies his eclectic style with electronica at its core. The album earned him the Indian Music Diaries Award for Best Electronica Artist in 2023. His music continued to gain recognition in 2023 with the release of his track “Pardesi,” featured in Amazon Prime’s hit show, Made in Heaven (Season 2).
Looking ahead to 2025, Curtain Blue will release his debut full-length album, a bold fusion of musical traditions that melds the rich timbres of a brass section—featuring clarinet, trombone, and trumpet—with the timeless sounds of Indian instruments.
Beyond his work as an independent artist, Curtain Blue is the owner of ABSound Lab, a renowned music production studio. Through ABSound Lab, he has composed and produced music for leading brands, including BMW, Adidas, Oppo, OnePlus, Coke, Pepsi, and Netflix, among others. His expertise has also extended to the world of fashion, where he has collaborated with esteemed designers such as Gaurav Gupta, Rajesh Pratap, Anamika Khanna, and Anita Dongre, composing soundtracks for runway shows and fashion films that enhance the visual storytelling of their collections.
